Forza 5/6 - Would You Buy an Xbox One for it?

I used to be big into gaming like most American males but ever since I’ve been getting older and more boring I’ve strayed away. The newest console I have is the Xbox 360 and I pretty much got that for the Forza games. I have 3, 4 and Horizons and I still play Forza 4 a couple times a month.

I have a nice amount of Amazon credit, and I have points on my credit card to get more at a discounted rate so I’ve been playing the “PS4 or Xbox One?” game in my head. Since the PS4-exclusive Gran Turismo game is still a ways off and Star Wars: Battlefront is multi-console I really have been thinking the Xbox One is my target for now.

I have read that Forza 5 was a disappointment for alot of various reasons but with Forza 6 getting alot of acclaim, I’m wondering if it’s good enough to justify a console. Any thoughts?

Pc master race. I gave up consoles years ago after I realized how expensive it was to constantly have to buy the “latest and greatest”

I had bought the Forza 6 edition XboxOne specifically to play Forza. Had it for a few months and just sold it. I don't play enough video games to justify it, but if you do other gaming as well, I'd say it's worth the investment.

I specifically bought the Xbox for Forza 5 and 6 is better in every way. If you actually have time to play it it's awesome.

I did and dont regret it. Only have 6 and horizon 2. I do want halo and sunset overdrive though.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone suggest that keeping up with the latest and greatest PC gaming was cheaper than consoles.

Do you have an existing wheel/pedal setup? If so be advised that it won’t be compatible with Xbone. For that reason, I’ve stuck with Forza 4 so far until the prices come down (I have a Fanatec setup for X360). There are some pretty good sales for the console right now, so if you’re only going to use the controller now’s a good time.

Fourtza is arguably still better than 6. Apart from the spectacular detail in the new car models, I feel that 4 is much more ‘fun’ to play. That is not to say 6 is not enjoyable, only that it feels like work more than it should.

If you have/will make the time to play, an Xbone and 6 is a good purchase.

I played the ever-loving shit out of 4 and got the Forza 6 Xbone a few months ago. I can give you an in depth review later should you want to know more of my take on 6.

I just made the jump from PS3 to Xbox One after a lot of research a deliberation. I came to the conclusion that both systems are great, but the exclusives for Xbox (like Forza) were more interesting to me so that’s what swayed me.

I got the Forza Edition console and I really love it so far. The game is fantastic. I’d say go for it.

I have to admit that every new version of Forza or Gran Turismo has been my motivation in buying the latest console over the years. The first time I played something other than Gran Turismo was a breakthrough moment in which I realized a Playstation could be used for something else!

I’ve just read into the cost associated with iRacing. It doesn’t seem to be good value what with buying tracks and cars plus a monthly membership if you are only gonna play maybe a few times a week.

It’s expensive, but I think it’s worth it. They run deals all of the time. You just need to jump on them when they do it. I’ve never played a video game that can compare.

Fair enough, the system requirements are lower than I expected too. But seeing as I bought an XBONE at the weekend and Forza 6 I won’t be investing anytime soon.

Like Thunderbolt I bought the Forza 6 Limited edition Bundle and I just sold it last Friday. Forza 4 is still the best Forza of them all. If you are buying it hoping that Forza 6 will be the best game that ever existed(like I was hoping) you will be greatly disappointed. Forza 6 is not a bad game by any means but it doesn’t even hold a candle to Forza 4.

I can’t say I would recommend buying an XBONE to play Forza 6.

100% agree. Forza 6 was a let down compared to Fourza. Graphics are out of this world but the game just isn’t at the level I expected.

Yeah, the graphics are a bit old, but the force feedback, physics, and multiplayer setup is spectacular at keeping the driving standards high and the crashers out. It’s the closest you can get to proper racing online.

Yeah. There is quite a lot of potential, but they somehow managed to make it less fun.

Personally, I think it’s all the hand-holding, especially the career mode. Just let me pick a car and race, damn it!

The AI is asinine. Great in theory, but everyone drives like a dick because it’s just the AI, so the AI are always horrid. And if there is any lag, they are impossible to deal with.

And I hate how they stopped giving us detailed info about the cars. I want to see engine sizes when buying mods.

And I know I’m picking nits, but when creating a layer-group, why the fuck can’t I hold the D-pad to adjust position? Tapping 20 times is annoying as shit, and the thumb sticks are too imprecise and often make me move a direction I did not want to.

I feel like most of the very positive reaction to 6 is because it’s not 5. 5 was a turd, so 6 being polished put a shiny coating over the annoying crap. Coming from 4 to 6 we are not blinded by the fresh coat of wax hiding the ugly under the surface.

Buy an Xbone for Horizon 2 and 6, 5 is not a very good game compared to the other 2.
